Slide 8.   This slide shows the silt buildup at the bottom of a runoff channel from one of the large scale farming operations.  When applying PAM to a water supply channel, flocculated sediments can settle out at the point of PAM application and pose flow problems and necessitate cleanout operations.  PAM application on the field drops out soil in the field where it is no problem.  PAM-treated runoff is nearly free of sediment and can greatly reduce the cleanout requirements of runoff and return flow channels.
