N. Sediment Reach Routing

Abstract:

Sediment reach routing is based upon a modified Einstein deposition equation using the Bagnold suspended sediment formula for the transport capacity by particle size class. If the upstream sediment is greater than the transport capacity for the respective particle size class, than degradation is assumed. The rate of degradation is based upon the same model as aggradation; i.e., the modified Einstein deposition equation assuming negative deposition.
