received a Closing the Circle Award on June 10, 2003 for its use of biobased products from the White House Task Force on Recycling, Office of the Federal Environmental Executive. The award recognizes the most effective and innovative programs to implement environmental management systems at Federal facilities.

received the 2002 ARS IR-4 Meritorious Service Award for outstanding and sustained contributions to the IR-4 Program presented by the IR-4 Project Management Committee and received a Special Thanks Award for efforts to rescue IR-4 residue samples following the tornado at Beltsville presented by the Office of Minor Use Pesticides.

was invited to present an overview of ARS and Biotechnology and Germplasm Laboratory poultry reproduction research at the 2003 Leadership Conference of the National Turkey Federation held in Washington DC.
