Responsibilities

I am the sorghum and millet technician.  I am responsible for coordinating and assisting in soil preparation, soil and water management, planting, pest control, and cultivation of sorghum/millet crops for regeneration/experiment purposes in both the field and greenhouse. I receive sorghum and millet accessions from cooperators, as well as seed harvested from the Griffin location, cleaning, obtaining data and processing these accessions into the collection. I obtain sorghum and millet seed and other crops as needed, from the cold rooms and freezer, package and label each sample for distribution to researchers and educators throughout the world.
