LIVESTOCK OUTCROP
headline bar

Resistance of soil functions to disturbance is generally high and relatively rapid recovery can be expected when applying livestock disturbance to Outcrop-type sites. There is a low risk of water erosion following treatment and vegetation can be expected to recover within two years following treatment. Microbiotic crust recovery is likely to take longer than six years following treatment. Soil infiltration rates are likely to be negatively affected by repeated disturbance within four years. Overall, the risk from livestock disturbance to soil and vegetation is low at Outcrop-type sites and repeated disturbance can occur more frequently than at other site types. Repeating disturbance within two to three years of the initial disturbance will normally not risk permanent site damage.
