Availability of Tours of the NCRPIS facility:
Hours of operation:
Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm (summer hours 7:00am – 3:30pm)
Tours may be scheduled outside of normal operating hours but are arranged by staff.
Tour may be arranged through:
- Jode Edwards, Research Leader edwards@usda.gov
- Fred Engstrom, Station Manager engstrom@usda.gov
- Lisa Burke, Agronomist (IT) burke@usda.gov
Tour length 1– 2 hours depending on the interests of the visitor(s).
- Field season tours can include visits to the field plots to see control pollination cages and field plantings.
- Year-round tours can include tour of the facilities including greenhouses and machine equipment.
- Additions to tours can include demonstrations related to the insect control pollination facilities and use of specialty seed cleaning equipment.
The North Central Plant Introduction Station part of the National Plant Germplasm System and is a secure facility. All visitors must sign in and be escorted.
