Hydrologic Technician

Position Description

I have been with the unit for about 10 years in the role of Hydrologic Technician.  During my time here I have primarily worked in the laboratory conducting sample preparation and analysis.  Some of my other duties include site construction and maintenance, instrument calibration and maintenance, data collection and analysis, and sample collection.

My previous work experiences have been in fisheries biology and habitat.  I have been lucky enough to travel around the country for positions, from Northern California to Buffalo, New York and a few places in between.  Some projects I've worked on have involved Chinook Salmon populations, Piping Plover fledging rates, in-stream habitat improvement projects for native fishes, stream passage projects for host species for freshwater mussels, Schoolyard Habitat development, and invasive species surveys and control.

Outside of work I spend most of my time with my husband, son, and dog.  We do a lot of outside activities together playing, gardening, and going to parks around Columbus.  I read a lot of books, crochet, quilt, and paint.  I love to cook and bake.
