For some time we were unable to reach an agreement with the University of Waterloo, the organization that licenses Sparspak. After several years the developer generously proposed a plan where he modified the Sparspak programs from an updated version with a one-time contract with ARS-USDA. Therefore, we can distribute the modified version of Sparspak without requiring the user (you) to obtain a license for the use of Sparspak. This agreement applies only to use Sparspak with MTDFREML. We had taken it off a web site during that period. Now, we are able to distribute the limited use license-free Sparspak Fortran code and the corrected versions of the Fortran code for the main programs and subroutines for MTDFREML.
