- Scaling of land surface parameters to satellite scale.
- Validation of satellite soil moisture products, such as AMSR-E, SMOS, Aquarius, and SMAP.

- 2016: Interagency Partnership Award, Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer for the SMAP Applications Working Group for promoting integration of SMAP data into operational applications.

- 2017: NASA Group Achievement Award, Soil Moisture Active Passive Science and Cal/Val Team for contributions to the preparation of science algorithm and calibration/validation activities for the Soil Moisture Active Passive Mission.
