Interests:

Plant-parasitic nematodes are of major importance for agricultural and forest ecosystems due to their negative impact as plant-pathogens. Our lab encompasses molecular research and next-generation sequencing aimed at the characterization of agricultural and forest plant-parasitic nematodes.

To be successful plant-parasites, nematodes secrete large repertoires of effector proteins, which are key components of their molecular dialogue with the host plants. Our group focuses on the identification and validation of nematode effector genes and understanding of the diversity and effector biology of migratory nematode species.

Current research areas:

- Identification and functional analyses of effectors of plant-parasitic nematodes

- Genomics and transcriptomics of plant-parasitic nematodes, with a particular focus on migratory nematodes

- Plant-nematode interaction studies using cell and molecular biology approaches
