Geneva, NY MLK 2023 |
We had a fantastic day of service at the Geneva Community Lunch Program. Twelve of us helped to prepare meals for about 70 individuals and meal prep for the following day. We also restocked their cupboards and fridges; sharpened knives; and cleaned up. Working side by side in the kitchen was also a great team building opportunity as we learned more about each other and our hidden talents.
I also learned that Giovina (our shift leader) was the local legend that started the program nearly 40 years ago! She was so patient and graceful in directing us through a few moments of chaos.
I think Tyler's smile says it all: it feels good to serve! Thanks for sharing your time and talents!
