After any incident of threatening and/or violent behavior, always report it to your supervisor and the appropriate Human Resource person. Include the following information:

- Date, time, and location
- Name of aggressor
- Name of complainant/victim
- Witnesses
- Summary of incident
- Action taken
Despite the best-laid plans, violence in the workplace can and does happen. Impacts of such incidents must be attended to office and lab personnels.
- Get medical assistant
- Recognize that pain, fear, stress, and other emotions are natural
- Don't blame yourself
- Seek counseling. USDA's Employee Assistant Program (EAP) have trained confidential counselors who can address workplace stress and violence issues.
