In order to maintain the highest standards for safety and health and respect for the environment, employees must understand and practice appropriate safety procedures for their own protection and the protection of others. Supervisors will take an active role by initiating preventative measures to control exposure to hazards associated with activities under their direction.
New permanent, summer, and temporary employees must take the New Employee Safety Orientation. You may either take this on-line course or view videos instead. Afterwards, there are mandatory quizes.
Permanent employees that have been with the USDA for at least one year will take the Annual Refresher Training and the mandatory quizes upon completion.
