Amy Wright is a Biological Science Technician and has worked for USDA-ARS since May of 2005. Amy works in support of the emerging foreign fungal plant pathogens project in Kerry Pedley’s laboratory studying host-pathogen interactions to identify plant resistance genes that can aid in the protection of crop species. Her expertise includes the propagation of plants and fungal pathogens, rating disease severity, gene silencing, and molecular biology techniques to measure gene expression.

Previously, Amy worked as a Biological Science Aide supporting the bacteriology project while completing her undergraduate degree. During this time, she worked on a project to develop a quantitative PCR diagnostic assay to identify a bacterial pathogen.
