ARS at Work - Bee Research Lab |
ARS scientists, researchers, and support staff across the country continue to work through this challenging time. Researchers at the ARS Bee Research Lab in Beltsville, MD, are preparing boxes and apiaries for spring bee colonies. The Lab conducts research to improve the health of honey bee colonies and help the beekeeping industry maintain an adequate healthy supply of bees for crop pollination.
Shown here: 1) Researchers are loading up fresh boxes for spring bee colonies to use as homes. 2) Entomologist Francisco Posada prepares apiaries for spring bee colony supplementation. 3) Staying connected is vital for research, and ARS researchers are holding daily meetings to stay apprised of honey bee projects and trainings.
