A lesser peachtree borer larva (Synanthedon pictipes) emerging from a wound it made in a peachtree. The female lesser peachtree borer adult oviposits eggs onto peach trees, and the larvae that emerge from the eggs feed on the cambium of aboveground portions of the tree, such as the trunk and limbs.
