For more than half a century, scientists at the USDA-ARS National Center for Agricultural Utilization Research in Peoria, Illinois, have searched for innovative agricultural products and technologies of interest to processors and consumers. Some of the research has focused on using injection-molding equipment to shape new starch-based products.
