A carpenter bee feeds on a mountain mint flower

An eastern carpenter bee, Xylocopa virginica, feeds on a mountain mint flower, which is a pollinator magnet due to its profusion of tiny blossoms. It usually blooms late June through August and attracts an assortment of pollinators.
