The USDA/Hispanic Serving Institutions National Program (HSINP) - Future Scientists Program

The Future Scientists Program brings science teachers and students into USDA’s Agricultural Research Service (ARS) laboratories for workshops and hands-on, inquiry-based activities to spark interest in STEM fields. The program provides teachers with educational resources from ARS scientists and their local laboratory site and current agricultural science research projects to encourage students to pursue careers in agriculture.

The program kicked-off with students exploring existing greenhouse research projects designed to help farmers control pathogens. Students toured the various research labs in plant pathology and viticulture. Research scientists shared their expertise and research projects with the students in hopes of inspiring future scientists of America.
