Derek Carney

Agricultural Science Research Technician

/ARSUserFiles/48783/Carney_Derek.png

I grew up on a farm in central Iowa with a cow-calf operation.  While attending Iowa State in the Agronomy department, I started working at NLAE as a student.  When I graduated, I stayed on with NLAE full time and have worked here ever since.  I do a variety of field and lab work mostly collecting soil, water, and plant samples to process for quality and nutrient analysis.  I also enjoy helping with the farm management of the labs research plots.
