Amanda Long is a biological science technician for the USDA-ARS Livestock Behavior Research Unit in West Lafayette, IN. They received their bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin: River Falls and moved on to North Dakota State University to complete a master’s degree in small ruminant reproductive physiology under Dr. Christopher Schauer. Amanda’s work supports the unit’s research and assists the graduate students studying under our program, under Dr. Heng-wei Cheng. Amanda is in charge of the Creighton Hall laboratory and is frequently involved with Dr. Cheng’s research on layer and broilers.  In addition to poultry studies, they also support the other scientists work in both swine and dairy.
