I am a Biological Science Laboratory Technician for the Soil, Water & Air Resources Unit at NLAE. I have experience on the fields of soil science, agriculture engineering, natural resources conservation, surface-water hydrology, plant breeding, and plant pathology. I earned both my B.Sc. degree and M.Sc. degree from the University of Puerto Rico- Mayaguez. I first began working for ARS in 2021 as a Biological Science Laboratory Technician for the Sugarbeet and Potato Research Unit in Fargo, ND. During my time there I was responsible for conducting routine molecular biology assays with regards to the soilborne disease Beet necrotic yellow vein virus (BNYVV). I enjoy exploring new avenues and combining soil science research with precision agriculture tools and technologies such as GIS, soil moisture sensors, and UAV’s. I look forward to continuing collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to advance research in soil health and agronomic practices.
