Isis Lima Caetano is a biological science technician who joined FDWSRU in July 2024. She works in Dr. Elizabeth Rogers’ laboratory, supporting her group’s research on insect vectored diseases of plants. Isis is an entomologist and an agronomic engineer. She has many years of experience doing research in biological control of invasive pests and rearing insects in and out of biocontainment facilities, as well as working with different types of microorganisms.

Since finishing her M.S. program, Isis has worked in the New York State Hemlock Initiative, coordinating quarantine facility operation, then at USDA-ARS-HCDPRU supporting IPM research on fruit crops, greenhouse pests, and testing neuropeptides using nano-injection techniques
