Research Ecologist
Dr. Richard Lizotte is a research ecologist with the Water Quality and Ecology Research Unit (WQERU) in Oxford, MS. Dr. Lizotte’s research projects have focused broadly on water quality and ecological aspects of aquatic ecosystems influenced by agricultural activity. His research has included laboratory aquatic toxicology, mesocosm and field-scale stream ecology, wetland systems as agricultural conservation practices, and watershed-scale field studies of multiple integrated best management practices.
Dr. Lizotte received his BS degree in Biology/Environmental Science (1990) from Fitchburg State University and his MS degree in Biology (1994) from The University of Memphis. He received training in aquatic toxicology and aquatic ecology with the completion of his PhD degree in Biological Science (1998) at The University of Mississippi.
