  • Epidemiology and ecology of fungal and nematode soilborne plant pathogens- Fusarium Rhizoctonia, Pythium Pratylenchus, and Heterodera.
  • Genetic diversity of fungal root pathogens on cereals, brassica and vegetable crops.
  • Cultural mananagement of root diseases of cereals.
  • Interactions of microbial communities and natural disease suppression in soils.

Temporal dynamics of Pythium and Rhizoctonia in eastern Washington soils, using quantitative PCR

Survey of Rhizoctonia species in wheat across the US

Natural decline of Rhizoctonia bare patch under continuous no-till, and role of microbial communities

Identification of resistance to Fusarium crown rot in wheat

Survey for cereal cyst nematode across eastern Washington, and evaluation of cultivars for resistance.
