Christine is a Biologist and has worked for USDA-ARS at the Foreign Disease-Weed Science Research Unit since 1999. They currently support Dr. Jo Anne Crouch’s research on fungal pathogens of corn and other cereal crops, boxwood blight, foreign oak wilt diseases, and pathogens causing downy mildew of cereals and grasses.
Prior to joining Dr. Crouch’s laboratory, they worked at this location as a Biological Science Technician (1999-2004) and Biologist (2004-2021) contributing to our understanding of soybean rust disease, including the development of molecular diagnostic assays, gene expression studies of pathogen infection structure formation, and soybean germplasm screens, primarily conducted within a high security BSL3 plant pathogen containment facility.
Education
M.S. Plant pathology, Michigan State University
B.S. Biology/Ecology, Juniata College
