Education:

B.S. Northern Arizona University, Criminal Justice with Biology Minor

M.S. Biology, New Mexico State University

 

Assists scientific staff in functional genomic studies on a key cotton pest, Lygus hesperus. Characterizes gene families through bioinformatics, gene cloning, expression profiling, and RNAi/CRISPR. Looking for promising gene families to utilize for future biological control of this pest. Also assists with basic lab duties: insect cell line maintenance, RNA and DNA extractions, maintaining lab chemical inventory and lab stocks/needs, and training of interns.
