Overview
My group focuses on identifying traits to enhance grapevine resilience towards environmental stressors driven by climate change (e.g., freezing, nutrient stresses, and drought). My research lays the groundwork to understand better the whole plant physiology in response to their environment and to translate the knowledge to crop breeding efforts to develop new cultivars with optimized yields and enhanced soil resource acquisition. Our approach leverages cutting-edge technologies from different research domains: population genetics, genomics, molecular biology, synthetic biology, high-throughput imaging, and phenomics to study plant stress adaptation and resilience.
