Welcome!

Damage from insects and other arthropods costs farmers and consumers billions of dollars annually. Host-plant resistance is one management tool that can be and has been used to limit damage and loss from pest arthropods.

The International Plant Resistance to Insects working group is an affiliation of researchers and practitioners that are advancing the development and use of plants with resistance to insects and other arthropods.

IPRI has held a biennial workshop since 1974 (see list of locations for previous workshops). The next IPRI meeting is set for April 22-25, 2024 in Tainan, Taiwan in collaboration with the National Taiwan University and the World Vegetable Centre. The IPRI2024 website is now accessible at https://avrdc.org/ipri-2024-about/ and abstract submissions are currently open and will continue to be accepted until March 2024.

Planning of the workshops is performed by an eight-member Steering Committee.  Committee members serve a six-year term.
