Mission
The mission of the Responsive Agricultural Food Systems Research Unit (RAFSRU) is to prevent and mitigate nutrition-associated chronic disease via innovations in the food-nutrition environment. The unit conducts focused research on human health and nutrition across all life stages generating fundamental knowledge on the interplay between agriculture, food systems, the environment and human health. This knowledge translates into practical solutions aimed to prevent the impacts of chronic disease. Through multi-disciplinary approaches such as precision nutrition, our vision is to develop and leverage innovations in agriculture and the food-nutrition environment to promote health of individuals and communities.
