Each year the Cropping Systems Research Lab unites with the Vitalant Blood Service twice a year for a blood drive. Vitalant provides blood and special services to patients in more than 1,000 hospitals across 40 states. Millions of people in communities throughout these states depend on generous volunteer blood donors and our dedicated team to make sure lifesaving blood is available when and where it is needed.  Employee’s here at the CSRL consider it an honor to be a part of such a special and giving organization.  Knowing that we are helping Lubbock and the surrounding communities when in need of blood is what drives our employees to contribute to this effort.   We have hosted these drives for the past 26 years and each drive has been a huge success. Vitalant brings their mobile bus to our location and Barbara Hodges coordinates the drive and gets employees signed up.  This is an event that we enjoying doing and it gives us great satisfaction in knowing we are making a difference.

We would like to give a special thank you to Barbara Hodges for all of her hard work organizing the blood drive. The blood drive wouldn't have been the success it was without all of your hard work!!!
