Stakeholder Meetings
headline bar

June 26, 2019

The goal of this meeting was to highlight the importance of soil health to sustain crop production under dryland and share results from samples collected from 2014 to 2018 with the producers. The meeting gave local stakeholders the opportunity to engage scientists from both the USDA-ARS as well as Texas Tech University. Presentations were made by Dr. Verónica Acosta-Martinez, Dr. Lumarie Perez-Guzman and Dr. Timothy Goebel. During the meeting, all participants engaged in discussions about further studies, ways to improve soil health and functioning of dryland, and future collaborations. The group of producers, led by Bill Jones, gave Dr. Acosta-Martinez a plaque recognizing her work in the field of soil health and her contributions to the local producers on the Texas High Plains.
