The application's overall strengths include:
- Role-based Access Controls
- Point and click, web-based interface
- Context-sensitive Help
- Document Status management
- Interconnectivity with other agency Databases
The current list of Content Types which can be updated include:
- Event Calendars
- News articles
- Hotlinks
- Positions
- Team listings
- Documents
The Document Editing section contains 3 tabs: Metadata, Document Editor and Reference List. The Metadata tab allows for editing of a document's title, status and placement on key pages. The Document Editor tab allows for page ordering, display settings and page management. The Reference List tab allows for management of a 'see also' list for the document by allowing users to select other content objects (eg related news or event items) to appear in a special See Also box when a visitor reads the document.
Document Tabs
The Document Editor interface is a what-you-see-is-what-you-get (WYSIWYG) environment allowing for tables, images, bullets and font attribute selection. Users can copy and paste up to 45 'pages' from a Word or WordPerfect document directly into the interface (see below) and keep all of the original formatting (with the exception of images which have to be transferred separately).
