Objective:
Develop new publicly available hop cultivars with excellent sensory characteristics, high yields and good disease resistance.
Approach:
The objectives of the project will be met by establishing and maintaining greenhouse, lab and office space. In addition, field plant production will be used to evaluate hops for desired cultivar traits. Hop plants will be propagated into field or greenhouse experiments and evaluated for vigor, plant structure and disease or pest resistance. Field grown hop plants will be harvested and evaluated for yield and cone chemistry.
