Research Project: Assessing the Potential for the Agricultural Conservation Planning Framework to be used in Watershed Planning Activities in the Eastern U.S. - NCSU

Location: Pasture Systems & Watershed Management Research

Project Number: 8070-21600-001-003-S
Project Type: Non-Assistance Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Jan 20, 2020
End Date: Aug 31, 2024

Objective:
The goals of this research agreement are to enhance understanding of conservation effects in the biophysical setting of a watershed, inform local watershed conservation strategies, and quantify the measurable effects of conservation practices at the watershed scale.

Approach:
Cost-effective implementation of conservation programs aimed at improving water quality requires an understanding how to select, place, and combine conservation practices in watersheds. This sub-award will support the field work and water quality modeling needed to apply the Agricultural Conservation Planning Framework (ACPF) in the Eastern United States.
