Objective:
This project will provide farmers the data they need to adopt improved Fusarium Head Blight (FHB) management practices in North Dakota durum.
1. Evaluate yield and DON in durum variety by fungicide trials under misted and dryland conditions at Langdon and Prosper, respectively.
2. Extend information learned from these experiments at grower meetings.
Approach:
Experiments will be a factorial combination of durum variety and fungicides. The experiment at Langdon will be misted for a high disease pressure environment and a dryland site at Prosper will provide a moderate pressure environment. Yield and DON data will determine the effect of variety, fungicide, and their interaction.
