Location: Crop Genetics and Breeding Research
Project Number: 6048-21000-031-003-S
Project Type: Non-Assistance Cooperative Agreement
Start Date: Jul 1, 2022
End Date: Jun 30, 2027
Objective:
The overall goal is to develop germplasm and genetic markers which can be used by breeders to reduce aflatoxin contamination in peanut.
Approach:
A Multiparent Advanced Generation Intercross (MAGIC) population is being developed using our best sources of resistance to aflatoxin contamination. This population will be phenotyped and genotyped to identify genetic markers (Quantitative Trait Locus-QTLs) for reduced aflatoxin.
