Research Project: CAREER: Unraveling the Metabolic Networks Underlying Plant Stress Adaptation

Location: Chemistry Research

Project Number: 6036-11210-002-005-N
Project Type: Non-Funded Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Jun 1, 2023
End Date: Oct 1, 2025

Objective:
To understand the role of aldoximes in integrating development and stress responses in Arabidopsis and tomato.

Approach:
Dr. Kim (UF) will generate Arabidopsis and tomato lines that over accumulate aldoximes, intermediates in the production of growth regulating plant hormones and plant chemical defense compounds. Dr Block (ARS) will then use GC-MS analysis to profile the volatile metabolites produced in these lines.
