Objective:
The ARS PI and the Cooperator will work collaboratively to: Objective 1. To identify the economic limitations and increase the financial resilience of beginning BIPOC farmers and landowners by strengthening knowledge and capacity to improve income opportunities tied to regenerative and soil health-promoting agricultural strategies, thereby creating opportunities for access to capital to pursue regenerative farming practices.

Approach:
The Cooperator will undertake the following activities to address the objective outlined above. To achieve objective 1, a series of four workshops will be offered to diverse BIPOC farmers. Two will address issues of financial literacy including interaction between savings, debt, and credit. The other two will address creating farm/food enterprise budgets and address long-term and business planning for regenerative practices such as the use of cover crops and other soil health-building practices.
