Research Project: Relating Traits of Weeds to Invasiveness

Location: Emerging Pests and Pathogens Research

Project Number: 8062-22410-007-034-S
Project Type: Non-Assistance Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Aug 1, 2023
End Date: Jul 31, 2024

Objective:
Identify traits that confer invasive ability to determine how the critical traits may vary based on the trait-environment interaction in field settings. Determine what role hybridization plays in conferring traits that are responsible for invasive success.

Approach:
Environmental variables will be measured including plant community indices, bioclimatic variables, assessments of habitat type and disturbance, and various soil sample traits. Apply multiple regression and ecological analysis techniques.
