Objective:
To support our cooperative project CucCAP on identifying gene loci conferring resistance to Fusarium wilt (a major soil-born disease of watermelon) and incorporating the resistance gene loci into the genome of watermelon cultivars. The funds will be used for support of a Clemson graduate student working on this research objective.

Approach:
CucCAP funds will be reallocated from USDA, ARS, U.S. Vegetable Laboratory budget to the CucCAP-cooperator at the Clemson-Coastal Research and Education Center(CREC), Charleston, South Carolina. The CucCAP -Project Director approved and supports this action to facilitate accomplishment of our CucCAP objectives.
