Objective:
Design and construct an autonomous mobile platform capable of auto-piloting, automatic handling of empty and full bins, and integrating multi-arm robotic modules resulting in an upgraded in-field sorting system.
Approach:
Cooperator will work with the ARS and co-PIs on the design and construction of a new autonomous mobile platform ready for integration with four 2-arm robotic harvesting modules and an automated in-field sorting system. It will possess functions that will allow the handling of three full and empty bins automatically. Specifically, cooperator will present a design for the new mobile platform, based on the overall design requirements/specifications provided by the project PD. After the new design is mutually agreed, cooperator will construct the new mobile platform and deliver the complete system within 12 months. Cooperator will provide technical support and services for the mobile system for one year after the delivery of the mobile platform to the project team.
