Objective:
The purpose of this agreement is to provide wildfire management services for any unplanned ignitions that may occur on USDA Agriculture Research Service lands.

Approach:
The Forest Service is providing fire management responsibilities in the absence of fire resources on ARS lands. The Forest Service will be responsible for managing all wildland fires on ARS lands, initial attack, and extended attack, whether they originate on or burn onto these lands. ARS will provide the Forest Service with building conference/training use as well as input and direction for decisions on extended attack or possible fires to be managed for resource benefit. In the event of wildfire, Forest Service and ARS will outline the procedures that will be followed in accordance with the following provisions and the hereby incorporated Operating and Financial Plan. Forest Service and ARS are agencies of “One USDA”.
