Objective:
These funds will be used to support research and outreach activities of the Cooperator, which links livestock graziers and federal, state, land grant, and private research and extension groups into partnerships to identify, develop, and promote pasture research and extension leading to economically, socially, and environmentally sound and sustainable grazing-based livestock production systems for the northeastern U.S.
Approach:
The funds will be used to provide support for the annual Northeast Pasture Consortium conference. This annual meeting provides an opportunity for stakeholders to meet with the ARS scientists and other public sector personnel to exchange ideas, learn of current research results, and come together to establish research priorities to promote grazing-based dairy and livestock production. Stakeholder input is critical to this process as they are the end users of the ARS research. Funds are needed for this hybrid conference to support room rental and onsite audio/visual rental equipment.
