Objective:
The overall objective is to create routes for data ingestion to the central data warehouse and added functionality to improve the initiatives capabilities for data management.
Approach:
To accomplish the proposed objective, a better understanding and documentation of the data collection technology used by the cooperators will be used to improve the functionality for data management. This includes data ingest, metadata standardization, quality control, setting of data usage policies, re-distribution of data to authorized individuals, auditing data access, and providing for long-term data set availability. The use cases for how researchers collect data in digitally accessible formats will be shared amongst collaborators so individuals using methods that take more time or effort to create a digital version of the data may consider adopting new technology. This will also serve as a blueprint for other researchers that are new to the initiative as they plan for field data collection.
