Research Project: Improving Abiotic Stress Tolerance for Sustainable Cotton Production

Location: Crop Germplasm Research

Project Number: 3091-21000-048-010-N
Project Type: Non-Funded Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Jul 1, 2024
End Date: Jun 30, 2029

Objective:
The objective of this research is to review and conduct research on topics related to drought and heat tolerance in upland cotton.

Approach:
All methods and procedures commonly used in plant breeding, molecular biology, physiological analysis, biochemical analysis, and statistical analysis will be used in this project to accomplish defined research goals. We will utilize the expertise of ARS and Cooperator partners where appropriate to better understand the response of cotton plants to drought and heat stress.
