Objective:
This project aims to address important questions on the epidemiology and characterization of circulating FMDV in Uganda and to determine FMD infection and sero-prevalence in small ruminant and pigs.

Approach:
1. Determine FMD infection and sero-prevalence of small ruminant and pigs. 2. Identify genetic differences among FMDV isolates from small ruminants in comparison to cattle. 3. determine circulating FMDV serotypes in small ruminants and pigs. 4. Determine epidemiological patterns and farmer practice correlates.
