Research Project: Characterizing the Physiological Role of SLC22A24

Location: Obesity and Metabolism Research

Project Number: 2032-10700-003-017-A
Project Type: Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Jul 1, 2024
End Date: Jan 31, 2025

Objective:
The objective is to measure steroid glucuronides and bile acids in cell culture media, transgenic mouse samples, and human plasma and urine collected at UCSF to aid in the determination of the role that SLC22A24 plays in steroid metabolism.

Approach:
Steroid glucuronides and bile acids will be extracted from provided samples in the presence of isotopically labeled standards and quantified by high performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry using methods developed by ARS and the Collaborator research scientists for this project.
