Research Project: Assessment of the Fruit and Root Physiology of Five Citrus Clones with some Tolerance to HLB

Location: Citrus and Other Subtropical Products Research

Project Number: 6034-41000-018-005-S
Project Type: Non-Assistance Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Sep 1, 2024
End Date: Sep 30, 2027

Objective:
ARS Scientists and the university cooperator will characterize the physiological properties and metabolites of fruit from five different citrus clones as well as the root and soil health of the trees on which the fruit is being grown.

Approach:
ARS Scientists will monitor and collect fruit at various stages of development from five different citrus clone trees. ARS scientists will also analyze the metabolites in the fruit. The university cooperator will provide guidance and assistance in collecting soil and root data on the five different citrus clone trees. The university cooperator will also aid in analyzing and interpreting the soil and root data and how it may affect fruit physiology and metabolites.
