Location: Mycology and Nematology Genetic Diversity and Biology Laboratory

Project Number: 8042-22000-322-013-S
Project Type: Non-Assistance Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Sep 1, 2024
End Date: Aug 31, 2029

Objective:
The objectives of the project are to develop a suitable, customized data portal and tools for querying the ARS fungal biodiversity data, including but not limited to the USDA-ARS U.S. National Nematode and Fungus Collections (BPI) and related digitized resources and data associations.

The ARS PI will develop, enter and identify the data that are needed to make the Collections data complete and fully searchable. The ARS investigator will provide the example data to the Cooperator for modification of the search fields and data entry fields in the data portal. The project will focus on developing new capabilities within the Symbiota data portal to: 1) Develop and implement tools for searching host data; 2) cleaning and synchronization of databases; 3) specimen loan tracking; and 4) continued development and upgrading of the web based portal to fully utilize the USDA data by stakeholders.
